2026 Plein Air Competition Exhibition
Brigham City Museum · Brigham City, Utah
The Brigham City Museum of Art and History has announced the upcoming 2026 Plein Air Competition Exhibition, which is scheduled to open to the public on March 13, 2027. The annual event challenges local and regional artists to depict the natural beauty of Utah.
Plein Air competitions test artists by requiring them to paint their entries entirely outdoors in the open air, working against unpredictable weather elements and strict time constraints to capture real-time light and landscapes before framing and submitting their work.
This exhibition serves as a significant celebration of Utah's natural world, fostering deep connections between the local community, artists, and the environment. It provides a unique platform for painters of all skill levels to showcase their talent while highlighting the scenic vistas of Box Elder County.
