The Leader (Tremonton) · Garland, Utah

The Bear River High School varsity football team secured a thrilling 28-21 Region 11 home victory over the Green Canyon Wolves on Friday night at Bear Field in Garland, scoring two fourth-quarter touchdowns to claim the contest. With the win, the Bears improved to 3-1 in region action and 5-2 overall under head coach Craig Anhder, cementing third place in the league standings as the regular season enters its stretch run.

Bear River wasted no time putting points on the board, striking on its very first offensive snap of the game when quarterback Preston Wilkinson handed off to Glaiden Behrens, who launched an 80-yard trick halfback pass to Karson Summers for a lightning-quick touchdown. In the second quarter, following an interception by Behrens, Wilkinson connected with Behrens on a 65-yard scoring strike to put the Bears up 14-7 at halftime. All four PAT kicks on the night were successfully converted by Helaman Nelson.

Tied 14-14 in the fourth quarter, Wilkinson orchestrated two decisive long-range scoring drives, first hitting Summers for a 77-yard go-ahead touchdown with 10:28 remaining and later connecting with Eli Braegger on a 30-yard end-zone strike over a defending Wolf with 4:20 left. The Bear River defense anchored the victory down the stretch, with standout stops from Behrens, Rigdon Vonk, Ty Hess, Jack Christensen, and a key sack by Ronel Rodriguez to turn back Green Canyon's late rally.
