Box Elder County Fair warns against ticket scams | Tremonton Leader

The Leader (Tremonton) · Brigham City, Utah

Box Elder County officials are issuing a public warning regarding an uptick in fraudulent ticket scams for the upcoming Golden Spike Rodeo. Scammers are reportedly using social media platforms to sell misleading or non-existent tickets at inflated prices to unsuspecting attendees.

The county advises residents to purchase tickets exclusively through the official event website to avoid becoming victims of fraud. Common warning signs of these scams include unrealistic pricing—such as asking thousands of dollars for a single seat—and fabricated seating charts, such as nonexistent rows.

The Golden Spike Rodeo is a major community event scheduled for August 26-29, 2026. Officials stress that official tickets will not be distributed until one week prior to the event, urging residents to exercise extreme caution if they encounter anyone claiming to have immediate access to official transfers.
