Box Elder County officials warn of Golden Spike Rodeo ticket scams

Cache Valley Daily · Box Elder County, Utah

Box Elder County officials have issued a stern warning to residents regarding a wave of fraudulent ticket scams targeting the upcoming Golden Spike Rodeo. Scammers are actively listing fake or misleading tickets on various online platforms and social media sites, with some deceptive listings appearing for as much as $11,000.

Authorities are working to combat the issue by removing hundreds of fake posts from Facebook daily, though they warn that fraudulent listings on third-party resale sites remain a significant threat. Officials highlighted several red flags for potential attendees, including incorrect event dates, unrealistic pricing, and invalid seating locations such as non-existent 'Row Z' spots.

The county advises that official tickets for the event will not be distributed until approximately one week prior to the rodeo. To ensure safety and legitimacy, residents are urged to purchase tickets exclusively through the official website, rodeoticket.com, or from known and trusted acquaintances to avoid financial loss.
