Brigham City approves amendment to roads plan after six-month review
Box Elder News Journal · Brigham City, Utah
The Brigham City Council officially voted 4-1 on Wednesday to amend the city's general plan and transportation master plan, marking the end of a rigorous six-month review process. The approval authorizes two major future roadway expansions designed to bolster infrastructure and improve traffic flow within the city limits.
Specifically, the approved amendments add connections extending 100 West from 700 South to Fishburn Drive and extending Lakeview Drive east from 200 West toward Main Street. These infrastructure changes were recommended in a staff report aimed at addressing the city's long-term growth and enhancing regional connectivity for residents.
This decision marks a significant step in Brigham City’s development strategy, signaling a proactive approach to managing the expected increase in traffic as the community continues to grow. By finalizing these routes now, officials hope to minimize congestion and streamline movement across these strategic corridors in the coming years.
