COLUMN: Hello Tremonton!

Jessi Ellis, a new reporter for the Tremonton Leader, has introduced herself to the Box Elder County community as she assumes her primary reporting role. A transplant from South Georgia with a background in local sports and features, Ellis is eager to immerse herself in the local culture and cover issues ranging from city council to local crime.

Ellis holds a degree in creative writing from Central Washington University and brings years of experience from her time in the Georgia media landscape. Her move to Utah was driven by a desire to be closer to family and a shared love for the mountains with her husband, who is now working with the Weber County Library System.

Her arrival serves as a fresh start for the publication, and she looks forward to connecting with Tremonton residents. As she adjusts to the region's altitude, she invites the community to share their local stories, history, and eyewitness accounts to help her better serve the area through her journalistic work.
