Box Elder News Journal · Box Elder County, Utah
Natural gas-powered electricity generation proposed for the Stratos data center in Box Elder County could contribute to premature deaths and millions of dollars in annual health damages, according to a study commissioned by the Natural Resources Defense Council and conducted by EmPower Analytics Group. The report analyzes emissions and public health impacts from proposed 1,800-megawatt peaking power plants intended to power the hyperscale computing campus in Promontory, warning of heightened particulate and ozone risks across Northern Utah communities.
