Tremonton probationer arrested for methamphetamine possession

The Leader (Tremonton) · Tremonton, Utah

Michael Shane Corbett, a 56-year-old Tremonton man on federal probation, has been arrested and charged with multiple drug offenses after authorities discovered methamphetamine at his home and on his person. The investigation commenced on October 26, 2026, when a Box Elder Narcotics Strike Force agent assisted a U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services officer with a compliance check at Corbett's Tremonton residence.

During a search of Corbett's bedroom, investigators reportedly found tin foil containing a crystalline substance that tested positive for methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia. Following his arrest for felony drug possession and two counts of drug paraphernalia, Tremonton-Garland Police transported Corbett to the Box Elder County Jail. While being booked, corrections deputies located an additional clear plastic bag of methamphetamine hidden in his sock, which Corbett admitted belonged to him.

These charges, which include one second-degree felony and one third-degree felony count of possession of a controlled substance with a prior conviction, along with two class B misdemeanor counts for use of drug paraphernalia, highlight the ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse in the Box Elder community. Corbett is being held without bail at the Box Elder County Jail, and an initial appearance was scheduled for Monday in Brigham City’s District Court, reinforcing the consequences for probation violations and drug-related crimes in Tremonton.
