Tremonton woman arrested for assaulting police officers
The Leader (Tremonton) · Tremonton, Utah
A 37-year-old Tremonton woman, Brittney Feller, was arrested Thursday following a violent confrontation with law enforcement during a Utah Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) intervention at her home. Feller faces charges including third-degree felony assault by a prisoner and class A misdemeanor assault on a peace officer, alongside a charge of interfering with an officer.
According to police reports, authorities were dispatched to assist DCFS, during which Feller became aggressive and irrational. Officers determined she posed an immediate danger to herself and required an involuntary commitment to the hospital. As police attempted to take her into custody, she allegedly resisted, striking an officer in the face, causing visible injuries, and later kicking a second officer during the struggle to transport her to a patrol car.
Following the incident, Feller was taken to Bear River Valley Hospital for medical evaluation before being booked into the Box Elder County Jail. The event highlights the dangerous situations that can arise during social service welfare checks and the subsequent legal repercussions for those who assault first responders in the line of duty.
