Willard City to get new website, text-alert system

Box Elder News Journal · Willard, Utah

The Willard City Council voted unanimously on July 23 to fund a comprehensive update to the municipal website and the implementation of a new text-alert system. The decision was prompted by technical assessments showing that the current website could not meet the legal requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

City Manager Jeremy Kimpton noted that the staff had tested various tools and collaborated with web designers to find a viable solution. The new digital infrastructure is expected to improve municipal communication and accessibility, ensuring that all residents can easily interact with city news and emergency notifications.

This upgrade is a significant move toward digital modernization for Willard. By providing more effective tools for public alerts and access to city resources, the council aims to increase administrative transparency and safety through direct, mobile-friendly communication.
